The Centre for Science & Technology of the NonAligned and Other Developing Countries (NAM S&T Centre) and the CSIR-Central Leather Research Institute of  India will organize an International Training Workshop on “Developing Key Parameters for Ensuring Sustainability of Leather Sector in Developing Countries” in Chennai, India during 28-31 January 2019.
The workshop aims to identify key challenges towards sustainability in various developing countries, set implementation targets and develop sustainability indices for benchmarking, to Identify appropriate technologies for various scenarios, network for appropriate short-term and long-term R&D projects and promote international cooperation and technology transfer among developing countries.


The Workshop programme has been primarily designed for scientists, technologists, researchers, academicians, industry people and policy makers working in the relevant areas of leather and leather products. 


The selection of the participants will be strictly based on merit and relevance of their current responsibilities to the subject of the Workshop as well as the quality of the extended abstract of the paper submitted by them along with the completed nomination form. 


A pre-condition for participation in the Workshop is that the participants must submit the full manuscript of their papers and other required documents electronically to the NAM S&T Centre at least 14 days before the commencement of the programme, latest before Friday, 14 December 2018.
